A law suit can take several months or even several years to get resolved. If the case is settled, obviously the suit is dissolved and the money is paid. If a trial is required, the process can take much longer. In all events, no case can fairly be concluded until the client has reached the end of his or her medical treatment with some assurance that they will not need any further care, or at least an estimate has been obtained relative to the cost of that future care.
